Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Now Hiring Patrol Deputies and Additional Positions
JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for multiple positions, including Patrol Deputies, Correctional Officers, and Sheriff’s Deputies.
According to the department, Patrol Deputy positions offer a starting pay of $19.36 per hour, with additional compensation available for night shifts.
Minimum qualifications for Patrol Deputies include a high school diploma or GED, along with APOST certification—or the ability to obtain certification within six months. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
Candidates for deputy positions must also pass several evaluations, including a physical agility test, written exam, psychological assessment, and an extensive background investigation.
In addition to patrol roles, the Sheriff’s Office is also hiring:
- Correctional Officers
- Sheriff’s Deputies
General requirements for applicants include:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum age of 21
- Ability to pass physical and drug screening
Officials say the hiring effort is aimed at strengthening public safety and ensuring adequate staffing across the county.
