Escaped Inmate Shelby Ryan Paradise had been arrested without incident today in New Hope, Alabama. Jackson County Sheriff’s Office offers special thanks to the New Hope Police Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Scottsboro Police Department and the Limestome County Prison K-9 Tracking Unit for assisting in the arrest of Paradise
Jackson County, Alabama is reporting an escaped inmate worker.
A press release from the county says 34-year old Shelby Ryan Paradise, of Scottsboro, AL, escaped around 4:00 am on October 22, 2020 from the Jackson County Jail. Paradise climbed a 16 foot fence topped with razor wire and then fled through a field across from the jail and into the woods.
“A perimeter was established by members of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Scottsboro Police Department and a K-9 Tracking Unit from the Limestone Prison was contacted,” the press release says. “The K-9 Unit tracked the escapee to the area of West Willow Street where the track was lost. During this track several items of jail clothing were located. It is believed that he was possibly picked up by someone at that location. There was an unconfirmed report that the escapee was observed in the area of Poplar Street but the K-9 Tracking Unit was not able to establish a second track.”
Jackson County continues the hunt for Paradise who is described as a white, male, 6’04” tall, 215 lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes. He may be wearing gray sweats or orange jail clothes.
Paradise is not considered a danger to the community, according to Jackson County authorities, and was in jail on a probation violation stemming from a burglary charge.
