TRENTON, Ga. — Dade County residents are invited to celebrate a proud moment in local history as the Dade County Train Depot officially reopens with a Ribbon Cutting & Dedication Ceremony on Wednesday, December 17, at 11:30 a.m.
The ceremony will be held at 111 Railway Lane, Trenton, GA 30752, marking the return of a beautifully restored landmark that once served as a vital hub for travel, commerce, and community life. Local officials, community leaders, and residents are expected to attend as the county formally welcomes the historic depot back into active use.
Following its restoration, the depot now serves an important role in county government. The building houses the Public Defender’s Office, the Soil and Water Conservation Office, and the Electrical Inspector’s Office, bringing essential public services together under one historic roof.
The depot dedication comes on the heels of another major milestone for Dade County. Just one day earlier, county leaders held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Trenton–Dade Animal Control Facility, a long-anticipated project that will enhance animal welfare services and provide modern resources for animal care and control.
Together, the two events reflect a week of meaningful progress for Dade County — honoring its past while continuing to invest in infrastructure and services that support the community’s future.
