FORT PAYNE, Ala. — Fort Payne Police seized 38 illegal gambling machines and more than $7,200 in cash during raids at three local businesses on Monday.
Officials said officers executed the raids after receiving multiple tips about suspected illegal gambling activity. During the operation, investigators confirmed the machines were being used for cash payouts.
Gael Garcia, of Albertville, was arrested in connection with the operation. Garcia faces charges of possession of gambling devices, conspiracy to promote gambling, promoting gambling and possession of gambling records.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges or arrests may be pending, according to police.
