Five-term Dade Sheriff Laid to Rest

Philip Street, Sheriff of Dade County from 1985 – 2005, was laid to rest today.

Law Enforcement, local fire departments, friends and family gathered on the Dade County square Wednesday morning for visitation and to attend the outdoor service while thousands live streamed the funeral online.

A long funeral procession escorted by law enforcement, fire, and EMS ended at Lake Hills cemetery where a flyover was made by Life Force. Along the way people lined the city streets and behind the windows of businesses paying their respects.
