Final Public Hearing and Vote Set on Dade County 2025 Millage Rate
Dade County, GA – County leaders are preparing for the final round of public hearings before adopting the 2025 millage rate.
The Board of Commissioners will hold its last public hearing on Wednesday, August 27, at 4:00 p.m. at the Dade County Administrative Building.
That hearing will be immediately followed by a Special Called Meeting at 4:30 p.m., during which commissioners are scheduled to vote on approving the 2025 millage rate.
Earlier public hearings have already been held, including sessions on August 20 at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
County officials have announced the millage rate will remain 7.7500, despite an increase in collections due to a 7.13% growth rate in the county’s tax digest. The county is projected to collect an additional $368,091 this year without raising the rate. However Commissioner Phillip Hartline has requested that the rate be rolled back to 7.2500 Mills
Tax bills are expected to be mailed by September 16, with payments due by November 15, 2025.
