National Community Policing Week is Friday, October 9 through Monday, October 12, 2020 and the Dade County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) has announced an event that will coincide and is being hosted by Rex Mayo.
The National Sheriff’s Association has joined with other national law enforcement associations and One Congregation One Precinct Initiative (OneCOP) in efforts to bring faith leaders, the community, and law enforcement more closely together, according to a press release by the DCSO. The event is called Faith & Blue.
“The Dade County Sheriff’s Office is excited to host and be a part of this idea; community networking with our faith leaders and community members. This event will help establish and enhance connections between us and our community. Now more than ever, the need for law enforcement and their communities support are critical in proactive organizational
relationships. We live in a unique nation where faith often unites us across our diversities; our goal through this event is to bring the community, agency heads, faith leaders, and law
enforcement officials together. Please join us this weekend, Saturday October 10, 2020 at the Dade County Square for food, fellowship, and Faith & Blue.
* This is an outdoor event; social distancing and masks are encouraged.
* Food and Refreshments will be provided.
* Local musicians for entertainment.
* Prayer and dialogue from faith leaders and agency heads.”
