Early Voting Concludes in Dade County Ahead of April 7 Special Election

Early voting has officially come to a close in Dade County for the upcoming April 7 special runoff election, with just over 850 ballots cast during the advance voting period.

The early voting window ran from March 30 through April 2, giving voters four days to cast ballots ahead of Election Day. No weekend voting was offered, and voting was not held on Friday due to the Good Friday holiday.

The April 7 runoff election will decide two key races impacting the region.

In Georgia’s 14th Congressional District, Republican Clay Fuller and Democrat Shawn Harris will face off after neither candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote in the initial special election.

Voters will also decide the Georgia State Senate District 53 race, where Republican Lanny Thomas is running against Democrat John Bentley “Jack” Zibluk in another runoff.

Election Day voting will take place Tuesday, April 7, at precinct locations across Dade County. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Voters are reminded to bring a valid photo ID and to report to their assigned polling location.

For more information on polling locations or voter requirements, residents can contact the Dade County Elections Office.
