DeKalb County Suspect Arrested Following Multiple Burglaries at Photography Studio

DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. — Authorities in DeKalb County have arrested a suspect in connection with two recent burglaries at a photography studio in the Aroney Community.

Between June 3 and June 4, 2025, the business was targeted twice. After the initial break-in, the victims attempted to secure the premises, but the suspect(s) returned for a second “shopping spree,” according to the victim.

Among the items stolen were a large number of formal gowns, hundreds of high-end clothing pieces, photography equipment, props, furniture, hair and makeup supplies, and various household goods. The total value of the stolen property is estimated at approximately $80,000, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO).

The investigation led officers to a residence on Lee Gap Road early Monday morning, June 9. Two individuals were interviewed at the scene, and investigators recovered most of the stolen items.

Earniest Jerome Westmoreland was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including two counts each of fourth-degree theft of property and third-degree burglary, as well as two counts of first-degree theft of property.
