Dekalb County EMA Issues Travel Advisory for Henagar Area

The Dekalb County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is warning motorists to exercise caution along highways in the Henagar area due to icy conditions.

Accumulated snowfall along AL-40 and AL-75 has melted in recent hours and refrozen, creating slick surfaces. Travelers are advised to use caution, particularly along AL-40 and AL-11 and in areas north of these routes, where ice accumulation is most pronounced.

Drivers should reduce speeds, maintain safe following distances, and be alert for patches of black ice. EMA continues to monitor road conditions and will provide updates as the situation evolves.
