Davis Fire Department Warns Public of Donation Scam

The Davis Fire Department is warning residents about a reported scam involving individuals falsely claiming to collect donations on behalf of the department.

According to officials, the department has received notice that someone is contacting members of the public and asking for money while claiming to represent the Davis Fire Department. Fire officials emphasized that these calls are fraudulent.

“We will never call you to ask for a donation,” the department stated.

Residents are urged not to provide personal or financial information to anyone claiming to solicit funds by phone for the department. Anyone who receives such a call is encouraged to hang up immediately and report the incident to local authorities.
