Dade county will be looking for another School Superintendent soon.
Dr. Jan Irons Harris will be stepping down, she tendered her resignation to the School board Monday night. She then informed the central office staff on Tuesday and sent a system-wide email to all the employees.

Dr. Harris will not be leaving the Superintendent position until the end of the year giving the school board a few months to start a search. School board Chairman Carolyn Bradford said the board will wait until the September meeting to accept her resignation. Dr. Harris has led the Dade County school system since 2016.
