The Dade County Commission is thanking residents for their participation in the county’s recent Joint Comprehensive Plan Visioning Session, which drew 38 community members to discuss priorities and ideas for the future of Dade County.

According to the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission, similar visioning sessions typically attract around 15 participants, making Dade County’s turnout significantly higher than average.

During the meeting, attendees took part in a SWOT Analysis, identifying the county’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The feedback collected will be compiled by the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission and presented at the next Joint Comprehensive Plan meeting for further review and discussion.

County officials said the strong attendance demonstrated a high level of community interest in helping guide future growth, development and planning efforts throughout Dade County.

Residents who were unable to attend the visioning session will have another opportunity to participate when the Joint Comprehensive Plan Committee meets again on July 21.

The next meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. on July 21 at the Historic Dade County Courthouse in Trenton.

County leaders encouraged residents to continue participating in the planning process as officials work to develop a long-term roadmap for Dade County’s future.
