Dade County Schools Weekly Update: Chorus Performs at Carnegie Hall

DCHS CHORUS PERFORMS AT CARNEGIE HALL

Students from the DCHS Mixed Chorus traveled to The Big Apple of New York City to perform at Nationals for Top Choirs through Choirs of America and Harmony Tours. Students performed for adjudication at Queens College on Thursday, April 4, and participated in a one-hour workshop with Andrea Ramsey, a Broadway 101 workshop, and a choir exchange with another HS choir from around the country. On Friday, April 5, the singers performed at Carnegie Hall in a mass choir with the other choruses under the direction of Artistic Director, Rollo Dilworth, and presented a world premiere piece written by Rosephanye Powell just for this concert. Students also experienced classic NYC pizza and had the opportunity to visit the Statue of Liberty, the 9/11 Memorial, the Museum of Natural History, Central Park, the Top of Rockefeller Center, a Broadway show, and more!
