Dade County Schools Releases Informational Video Ahead of Nov. 4 E-SPLOST VII Vote
Trenton, Ga. — The Dade County School District has released a new video message from Superintendent Josh Ingle for residents ahead of the Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025 referendum on E-SPLOST VII (Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax).
Ingle’s message explains what an E-SPLOST is and how the penny sales tax is used for school capital needs. In Georgia, E-SPLOST funds can pay for items like facility construction and maintenance, safety and security upgrades, technology, textbooks/equipment, and school buses. By law, E-SPLOST cannot be used for employee salaries or day-to-day operating expenses.
District leaders say the goal of the video is to help voters understand how a renewed E-SPLOST would support long-term planning and keep major projects on schedule. If approved, the measure would continue the existing one-cent education sales tax rather than create a new tax rate. Specific project priorities typically include campus safety improvements, building repairs and modernization, instructional technology, and transportation fleet replacements; the district’s detailed project list is available in its public materials.
Residents are encouraged to watch the video and review the district’s information before Election Day. Official election details (polling locations, hours, and early voting options) are available from the Dade County Board of Elections and the Georgia Secretary of State.
