Dade County School Nutrition is helping families this summer by providing free meals for children through a weekly drive-thru meal pickup program at Dade Elementary School.

The summer meal program will take place every Wednesday in June at the front of Dade Elementary, located at 306 Wolverine Drive in Trenton. Pickup times are scheduled from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., while supplies last.

Officials say children 18 years old and younger are eligible to receive meals at no cost. Each weekly pickup will include five days’ worth of breakfast and lunch meals to help families during the summer break when school is not in session.

The program is part of an effort to ensure children continue to have access to nutritious meals throughout the summer months.

Families with questions about the program can contact Dade County School Nutrition at 706-657-4361.

School officials noted that the institution is an equal opportunity provider.
