Dade County Schools Aims for 100% Attendance on FTE Day, Sets Parent/Teacher Conference Day

Trenton, Ga. — Dade County Schools is calling for perfect attendance on Tuesday, Oct. 7, as the district participates in FTE Day—the state’s Full-Time Equivalent count that helps determine school funding. District leaders are urging every student to be present to ensure DCS receives full credit for the students it serves.

The district will also host Parent/Teacher Conference Day on Oct. 7. Students will attend a half-day, with dismissal three hours earlier than normal, and conferences will begin shortly after students are released.

What families need to know

  • Be there: DCS is shooting for 100% attendance on Tuesday.

  • Early release: Schools will dismiss 3 hours early.

  • Conferences: Meetings with teachers will follow early dismissal.

  • Details: Families should contact their child’s teacher or school for specific conference times and logistics.

DCS says the early release schedule is designed to give families flexible, focused time with teachers to review student progress and set goals for the months ahead.
