Dade County, GA — Pet owners in Dade County have something to celebrate: the Dade Animal Coalition (T-DAC) has received a generous donation of 100 microchips, now being offered free of charge to pets spayed or neutered through the Dade County Pet Project.

This new addition to the low-cost spay/neuter program provides an extra layer of protection for local pets. Microchipping is one of the most effective ways to ensure lost pets are safely reunited with their families—and now, thanks to this donation, eligible pet owners can take advantage of this service without paying extra.

“This donation is a game-changer for families looking to safeguard their pets,” said a T-DAC spokesperson. “Not only are we helping prevent pet overpopulation, but we’re also giving families peace of mind by making sure their animals can be identified and returned if they ever go missing.”

The first pet to receive one of the donated microchips was Rosie, a shelter pup featured recently in a “Dog’s Day Out” social media video, where she was shown enjoying ice cream on an outing. The video touched viewers’ hearts, and Rosie was adopted soon after. She was microchipped before heading home with her new family—safe, loved, and protected.

Pet owners interested in spay or neuter services can contact the Dade County Pet Project at 423-596-9977 to get started. Free microchips will be provided while supplies last.
