TRENTON, Ga. — The Dade County Commission is moving toward enforcing countywide building codes effective Jan. 1, 2026. Commissioners, local experts, and contractors discussed soil and erosion controls and electrical code enforcement this week, saying the measures aim to improve safety, consistency, and accountability across new construction and renovations countywide.

Details on specific code adoptions and enforcement procedures are expected to be finalized in the run-up to the 2026 start date.
