The Dade County Food Pantry will hold its next food distribution on Thursday, July 17, offering groceries and additional summer food assistance to qualifying families in the community.

Food pickup will be available from 3 to 5 p.m. at the pantry, located at 2026 Highway 136 on Sand Mountain. Organizers encourage eligible residents in need of food assistance to take advantage of the distribution.

In addition to regular food assistance, families with children under the age of 18 may qualify to receive a Summer Food Box. The boxes contain kid-friendly, shelf-stable foods designed to help bridge the gap while children are home from school during the summer months.

Residents may also notice a change in the organization’s name. The pantry, formerly known as the Tri-State Food Pantry, is now operating as the Dade County Food Pantry. According to organizers, the new name better reflects the organization’s mission of serving the people of Dade County with compassion, dignity and care.

The Dade County Food Pantry is a faith-based organization operated entirely by volunteers. Its mission is to provide nutritious food to qualifying families throughout the community.
