Dade County Exploring Glass Recycling Program, Seeking Public Input
TRENTON, GA — Dade County officials are exploring the possibility of bringing glass recycling services to the community and are asking residents to help determine whether there is enough local interest to make the program a reality.
During Thursday night’s Dade County Commission meeting, Commissioner Melissa Bradford discussed a potential partnership that could bring glass recycling to the county’s Trenton drop-off center.
According to county officials, the success of the program will depend on community participation. At least 50 residents must commit to participating before the partnership can move forward.
To gauge interest, Dade County has launched a brief survey and is encouraging residents who would use a local glass recycling service to complete it.
Officials say the survey will help determine whether there is sufficient demand to establish a permanent glass recycling option in Dade County.
If the initiative proves successful, county leaders say it could potentially open the door for additional recycling opportunities in the future. Commissioner Bradford noted that materials such as Styrofoam could be considered for future recycling efforts if community support for the glass recycling program is strong.
County officials are encouraging residents to complete the survey and share it with family members, friends, and neighbors who may also be interested in local recycling opportunities.
Questions about the proposed program can be directed to Commissioner Melissa Bradford.
Officials say community participation will ultimately determine whether Dade County moves forward with the glass recycling initiative.
