Dade County Emergency Management is urging residents to prepare for extremely dangerous travel conditions beginning . tonight.
Officials say that as rain exits the area, standing water on roadways will rapidly freeze, creating widespread black ice and making travel extremely hazardous.
Residents are strongly encouraged to get home early and stay off the roads.
Due to freezing temperatures, road treatment products will be ineffective, and emergency services may be delayed or unable to respond in some areas.
