Dade County Community Mourning Loss of Dade Middle School Student

The Dade County Schools community is mourning the loss of a local student following a tragic accident.

School officials confirmed the passing of Reece Anthony Robinson, an 11-year-old sixth-grade student at Dade Middle School.

In a message to families, Dade County Schools expressed deep sadness over the loss and encouraged students and staff to support one another during this difficult time.

School leaders said counselors will be available Monday and Tuesday to provide support for students and staff who may need someone to talk with following the tragedy.

Reece was born July 21, 2014, and passed away on March 6, 2026. Family members describe him as a kind-hearted, fearless young boy with an outgoing personality who brought joy and laughter to those around him.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors and loved activities such as fishing, hunting, climbing trees, gardening, cooking, and helping others.

Reece is survived by his mother Sarah Robinson, his brother Raylan Robinson, grandparents Stoney and Rita Gore, uncle Heath Gore, and grandparents Michael and Delane Robinson, along with many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 10 at 12:00 p.m. in the Larry Moore Memorial Chapel at Moore Funeral Home in Trenton.
Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Bryant, Alabama.

The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.

Those wishing to help the family may make memorial contributions to Moore Funeral Home to assist with burial expenses.

Community members are asked to keep Reece’s family, classmates, teachers, and friends in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
