Dade County Commission to Consider Final Approval of FY 2027 Budget Tuesday
TRENTON, Ga. — The Dade County Commission will take the final step in adopting the county’s Fiscal Year 2027 budget during a Special Called Meeting on Tuesday, June 30.
The meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Meeting Room of the Dade County Administration Building, located at 71 Case Avenue in Trenton. The meeting is open to the public.
County officials say the proposed FY 2027 budget currently reflects an estimated $300,000 deficit. Much of the projected shortfall has been attributed to a 21 percent increase in employee health insurance costs, along with rising fuel prices and higher costs for contracted services.
County staff and commissioners have spent the past several months reviewing departmental requests, projected revenues and anticipated expenditures in an effort to develop a balanced spending plan for the upcoming fiscal year.
If approved during Tuesday’s meeting, the FY 2027 budget will take effect on July 1, the first day of the county’s new fiscal year.
