Trenton, Ga. — On September 30, the Dade County Board of Commissioners convened at the Historic Courthouse to discuss strategies for lowering costs on the proposed Elections Building while ensuring it remains secure, efficient, and durable for decades to come.

His recommendation centered on simplifying the project to a single-story brick structure on the same site. With this downsized plan, the total estimated cost of the building has now been reduced to $1.9 million.

Commissioner Melissa Bradford added that residents have consistently voiced the need for a facility that will “stand the test of time.”
