Dade County Board of Education Releases FY27 Tentative Budget
The Dade County Board of Education has released its tentative budget for Fiscal Year 2027, outlining projected revenues, expenditures, and planned capital investments for the upcoming school year.
According to the proposed budget, the school system expects approximately $25.2 million in General Fund revenue, with total General Fund expenditures projected at nearly $26.8 million.
The budget also includes funding through Special Revenue and Capital Projects accounts, including SPLOST funds dedicated to school facility improvements and construction projects. The Capital Projects Fund lists approximately $4.2 million in facility construction expenditures.
School officials project the General Fund ending balance at just over $5.8 million.
The tentative budget includes spending for instruction, transportation, school administration, maintenance and operations, school nutrition, pupil services, and school safety initiatives.
Community members will have an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed budget during two public hearings scheduled for June 8 at 5 p.m. and June 15 at 12:30 p.m.
The Dade County Board of Education is expected to consider final adoption of the FY27 budget during its regular meeting on June 22 at 5 p.m. at the Board of Education meeting room located at 52 Tradition Lane in Trenton.
