Dade County Board of Education Appoints Vic Grider and Chastity Steadman as Assistant Principals for Dade County High School

Monday night, the Dade County Board of Education held their monthly meeting, where they discussed personnel for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year.

It was announced that Vic Grider, from Coahulla Creek High School, would be stepping into the role previously held by recently promoted Principal Brent Cooper. Grider is a well-known name in the areas surrounding Dade County, as he served as head coach of the South Pittsburg football team for a total of 22 years; winning 10 or more games for 16 of those seasons and winning 3 Class 1A Tennessee State Championships.

Assisting Principal Cooper alonside Grider will be Chastity Steadman. According to Superintendent Josh Ingle on the K-WIN Today, Steadman will bring her experience as an outstanding teacher into the position, along with the ability to focus on discipline of female students within the school.

Also at the meeting, the Schoolboard approved the following staff members for FY23:
