DADE COUNTY AWARDED OVER $870,000 IN STATE TRANSPORTATION GRANTS
Funding Will Support Local Road Maintenance and Improvements

Dade County, GA — County Executive Don Townsend is pleased to announce that
Dade County has been awarded two significant transportation grants from the
Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT): a Local Maintenance and
Improvement Grant (LMIG) in the amount of $391,034 and a Local Road
Assistance Grant (LRA) totaling $479,733. These funds will directly support
critical improvements and maintenance on Dade County’s road infrastructure.
The LMIG program is designed to help local governments maintain and improve
transportation networks across Georgia. Combined with the LRA allocation, the
nearly $871,000 investment marks a substantial contribution to ensuring safer,
more efficient travel for residents and businesses throughout the county.
County Executive Don Townsend praised the dedication and diligence of county
staff in securing these funds.
“This achievement reflects the outstanding work and collaboration of our team,”
said Townsend. “I’m especially proud of the exceptional efforts by Grant Writer
Kathy Ragon and Chief Financial Officer Rebecca Jones, whose professionalism
and expertise were instrumental in obtaining these competitive grants. Their
commitment to Dade County is helping us move forward in building a safer and
stronger transportation future.”
The funds will be used for prioritized maintenance and improvements across
various county-maintained roads. Specific projects and timelines will be
announced in upcoming weeks as the County Commission finalizes plans
