Two individuals were apprehended yesterday on an abandoned property in the area of Hales Gape and Slygo Roads. The males were taken into custody on charges of Conspiracy to Commit Felony, Criminal Trespass, and various other charges.

The following press release was provided by Chad Payne of the Dade County Sheriff’s Department:
“On February 1, 2022, Dade County 911 dispatched an officer to the area of Hales Gap Rd and Slygo Rd, in regards to a male subject walking around an abandoned property. They also advised a truck was parked on the side of Hales Gap Rd, close to the incident location.
A Dade County Detective and Drug Task Force Agent were in the area, so they responded to check it out.
After they checked the vehicle VIN number, they recognized the owner of the vehicle. They advised dispatch they were familiar with the owner, and to have Road Patrol respond to their location, so they could attempt to locate the male.
Upon the arrival of the Road Patrol Unit, a perimeter was established around the property.
While checking the property, Dade County Units located a subject who was attempting to hide from deputies. While identifying the located subject, other Dade County Units began walking the through the woods in the direction of the truck parked on Hales Gap.
While combing the woods, Dade County Units “flushed” the other subject out of the woods, directly in to another Deputy who was waiting at the subjects vehicle.
It was found that the vehicle owner had parked on the side of the road, lifted his hood, and removed his tag, attempting to imply the vehicle was broken down.
The two subjects arrested were:
Stacey A Hart (49 of Trenton, GA)
* Conspiracy to Commit a Felony
* Criminal Trespass
* Probation Warrant (Jackson, AL)
Eric J Shrader (48 of Trenton, GA)
* Conspiracy to Commit a Felony
* Concealing the Identity of Motor Vehicle
* Criminal Trespass
Both subjects are currently incarcerated at the Dade County Jail.
All subjects are presumed innocent, until proven guilty in a court of law.”
