The Dade County Board of Commissioners met Thursday January 6th for their scheduled monthly meeting.
Commissioner Lamar Lowery brought a resolution to support Constitutional Carry, supporting and encouraging the resolution proposed by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, Senator Jeff Mullis, and State Representative Mike Cameron that will allow the possession of a firearm without a weapons carry permit. The commission reappointed Mr. Robby Ryan to the Special Use Permit Board, alongside new member Kattie Cash Bein.
SPLOST funds were approved to Davis Fire & Rescue, allowing Chief Mark Gibson to acquire new turnout gear, boots, hoses, and nozzles; replacing equipment that was between 15-20 years old.
ARPA funds of just over $20,000 were approved to maintain air handlers & air scrubbers in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
