Community Invited To The First Day 5K On January 1 At Jenkins Park

TRENTON, GA — The community is invited to welcome the new year with the First Day 5K, a relaxed, family-friendly walk/run taking place January 1, 2026 at 9:00 AM at Jenkins Park.

The non-timed walk/run is open to all ages and fitness levels, offering both a 5K and 1-mile option. It’s designed to promote a healthy and active lifestyle, giving families and individuals an encouraging way to begin the new year.

“We wanted to offer something simple and fun to encourage people to stay active and engage with their community,” said Larry Moore, owner of Moore Funeral Home.

The First Day 5K is also pet-friendly, inviting attendees to bring their leashed dogs to join in on the fun.

Participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or pet food, which will be collected to support local families and animal rescues.

The event is FREE to attend, and no registration is required.
