After a moratorium was placed on any new hotel/motel development, the City of Trenton adopted the proposal for new definitions of “hotel” and “motel” during their monthly meeting on Monday. The adopted definitions directly reflect the City Planning Committee’s first proposal; attached below-

Street Commissioner Monda Wooten requested a $1,200 bonus to be given to city employees who worked during the pandemic, even though many businesses were shutting down. “They’ve done a great job, and with all the companies offering sign-on bonuses– our employees stayed with the City.”

Wooten also asked to check with the City Attorney, on the possibility of giving the same bonus to the surviving family of Mike Poss. Poss worked in the Street Department until he passed due to COVID last August. Commissioners Lucretia Houts and Terry Powell agreed. Commissioner Kirk Forshee was not in attendance.
