Cigna Removes CommonSpirit Health From Insurance Networks in Tennessee and Georgia

Cigna has officially removed CommonSpirit Health, formerly known as CHI Memorial, from its commercial insurance networks in Tennessee and Georgia, effective February 1, 2026.

CommonSpirit Health officials say discussions with Cigna are continuing in an effort to reach an agreement that would restore in-network access for patients as quickly as possible.

Hospital leaders acknowledge the change may cause concern for patients and are encouraging those affected to review their insurance coverage options and get the most up-to-date information by visiting commonspirit.org/insurance.

Despite the network change, CommonSpirit Health says it remains committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care and continuing its mission to improve the health of the communities it serves.

In a statement, CommonSpirit Health said:

“Cigna removed CommonSpirit Health from participation in its commercial networks in Tennessee and Georgia on February 1, 2026. We continue to actively engage Cigna for a mutually agreeable solution that will restore in-network access for our patients as quickly as possible. We understand that changes to insurance coverage can be concerning for our patients, so we encourage our patients to visit commonspirit.org/insurance for more information. As always, we remain deeply committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to those we serve and to making our communities healthier.”

The statement was issued by Karen Long, Communications Manager, Memorial Hospital | TN/GA, CommonSpirit Health.
