Local fire departments are warning the community about a scam involving individuals posing as representatives to solicit donations.
Davis Fire Department and New Home Fire Department stress that they are not going door-to-door, making phone calls, or sending messages to request donations. Any such contact should be treated as a scam.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement. Authorities are particularly concerned that vulnerable community members could be targeted.
The public is reminded to help spread the word to prevent others from falling victim, and to never give out personal information or send money unless certain of the requester’s identity.
