$7.2 Million Bridge Replacement Project Awarded for Dade County

TRENTON, Ga. — A major bridge replacement project in Dade County is moving forward after the Georgia Department of Transportation awarded a $7.2 million construction contract to replace the State Route 136 bridge over Lookout Creek.

The contract was awarded to Wilson Construction Management, LLC as part of GDOT’s June contract awards.

Construction is expected to begin within the next few months, with the project scheduled for completion by April 30, 2029.

The Dade County bridge project accounted for the largest share of more than $8.6 million in bridge contracts awarded in Northwest Georgia last month. Statewide, GDOT awarded 20 transportation contracts totaling approximately $74.3 million during June.

The replacement of the State Route 136 bridge is expected to improve safety, reliability, and long-term infrastructure along one of Dade County’s key east-west routes.

Additional information about traffic impacts and construction schedules will be announced by GDOT as work gets underway
