3-Way Stop Planned at Holland and Stanley Roads on Sand Mountain
DADE COUNTY, GA — A traffic safety improvement is coming to Sand Mountain, as Dade County officials move forward with plans to install a new three-way stop.
At the request of the Dade County Sheriff’s Office, a 3-way stop sign will be installed at the intersection of Holland Road and Stanley Road following approval by the Dade County Board of Commissioners.
The change is expected to be in place by April 29, 2026.
Safety Concerns Prompt Change
Officials say the intersection has been identified as a safety concern due to limited visibility and blind spots, making it difficult for drivers to see oncoming traffic from multiple directions.
The layout of the roadway and surrounding terrain creates challenges for motorists attempting to safely enter or cross the intersection.
What Drivers Should Expect
Once installed, the new stop signs will require all drivers approaching the intersection to come to a complete stop before proceeding.
Officials say the goal is to slow traffic and reduce the risk of accidents, improving safety for residents and travelers in the area.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution and be prepared for the new traffic pattern as the change is implemented.
County officials emphasize that safety remains a top priority and thank drivers for their cooperation.
