The Atlanta Braves will be back in action Thursday afternoon as they take on the Tampa Bay Rays at Truist Park.
The Braves enter Thursday with an 85-61 record as they continue through an important stretch of September baseball. Atlanta has been one of baseball’s stronger teams at home this season, carrying a 48-26 record at Truist Park into the matchup.
Tampa Bay comes into the game at 87-58 overall and has also found plenty of success away from home. The Rays are 40-33 on the road this season and enter Thursday with a two-and-a-half-game advantage over Atlanta in the overall standings.
With the regular season winding down, both teams are looking to position themselves for postseason baseball. For Atlanta, Thursday provides another opportunity to pick up a victory at home and build momentum heading deeper into the final month of the season.
The Braves will look for their lineup to provide plenty of run support while the pitching staff attempts to slow down a Tampa Bay club that has put together 87 victories this season.
The Rays and Braves are scheduled for a 12:15 p.m. first pitch Thursday afternoon at Truist Park in Atlanta.
