Whether you’re a seasoned picker, a curious newbie, or someone just trying to get to work without running over someone holding a porch swing… here’s what to expect:
🗺️ WHAT IS THE 127 YARD SALE?
A 690-mile-long yard sale stretching from Michigan to Alabama, and Dunlap is right in the middle of it all. For four (or more) days, every field, driveway, and roadside stand turns into a treasure trove of junk, gems, and glorious chaos.
You’ll find:
• Antiques, vintage goods, repurposed furniture
• Handmade crafts, collectibles, and tools
• Clothes, toys, vinyl records, and odd things no one needs but everyone buys
• Folks selling boiled peanuts out of lawn chairs and calling it retail
🚗 Expect slow traffic, pulled-over trailers, and the smell of kettle corn in the air.
Traffic will crawl as bargain hunters rubberneck at card tables full of ‘90s VHS tapes and yard signs that say “Not For Sale… Unless You Ask.”
🧠 Pro Tips to Survive and Thrive:
✔️ Get out early to beat the heat and the crowd.
✔️ Bring cash — many booths are cash-only.
✔️ Wear comfy shoes and sunscreen.
✔️ Haggle (politely)!
✔️ Don’t block the road while shopping from your car. You will be judged.
✔️ Bring a truck… just in case that vintage Pepsi cooler has your name on it.
