    Impacts from ice accumulation are already being felt in portions of northeast Georgia extending into the Atlanta metro area. These impacts will expand through the morning hours across the warning area as ice accumulations continue to build.

    IMPACTS
    Wind chills from 5 to 15 above across much of north and portions of Middle Georgia are expected with wind chills as cold as 0 in the north Georgia mountains. Avoid prolonged exposure if possible and have a safe heating source, particularly for those who may be experiencing power outages.

    Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Dade Middle School will hold baseball tryouts for the 2026 season on Monday, February 9, and Tuesday, February 10, at the DC Sports Complex. Tryouts will take place after school and conclude at 5:45 p.m. each day. Bus transportation will be provided from DMS to the DC Sports Complex for participating students.

Students planning to try out should bring appropriate baseball equipment, including a glove, cleats or sneakers, baseball pants or sweats, and warm clothing, as temperatures may be cold.

Important: An updated physical must be on file with Mr. Lyons in order to participate in tryouts.

Pre-Tryout Arm Conditioning will be held Monday, February 2, through Thursday, February 5, at Dade County High School (DCHS). Students will ride Bus 24-3 from DMS to DCHS after school. Conditioning sessions will end at 4:15 p.m., and a baseball glove is required.

All interested students are encouraged to attend and come prepared.
