The Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office is seeking qualified applicants for a grant-funded Circuit Paid Victim/Witness Advocate position. This role provides critical support and direct services to victims of crime within designated counties of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit.
Position Summary
The Victim/Witness Advocate provides direct services and support to victims of crimes occurring within their assigned county or counties, and other counties as needed. The Advocate serves as a liaison between victims and prosecuting attorneys, ensuring victims are informed of their rights and supported throughout the judicial process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Providing criminal justice support and advocacy

Offering crisis counseling and emotional support

Coordinating referral services and specialized assistance

Assisting with Crime Victim’s Compensation and restitution

Providing victim notification services
-
Accompanying victims to court proceedings
-
Maintaining current victim contact information and updating case files and data tracking systems
-
Serving as the District Attorney’s designee on county task forces and committees

Attending conferences and professional training in victim services
-
Assisting in the recruitment, training, and supervision of interns and volunteers for the Victim/Witness Assistance Program

Performing other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (required)

Strong communication skills

Insight into the criminal justice system

Basic understanding of legal terminology
Salary
Annual salary starting at $39,335.00, based on experience.
