Lady Wolverines’ Season Ends with 6-4 Loss to Metter in State Playoffs

The Dade County Lady Wolverines’ postseason run came to an end Tuesday afternoon with a 6-4 loss to Metter in the deciding game of their state playoff series.

Dade entered Tuesday’s game with momentum after keeping its season alive with a 13-8 victory over Metter in Game 2.

That win evened the series and forced Tuesday afternoon’s winner-take-all third game, with the winner advancing to the next round of the state playoffs.

The Lady Wolverines battled but came up two runs short as Metter earned the 6-4 victory and advanced.

The loss brings an end to a successful season for Dade County, which captured the region championship before advancing into the state tournament.

The Lady Wolverines’ postseason may be over, but the team closes the year as region champions and with another state playoff appearance added to the program’s accomplishments.

Congratulations to the Dade County Lady Wolverines, their coaches and seniors on a strong 2026 season.
