UPDATE: Colbin Quinn Davis in Custody Following Dade County Double Shooting

The manhunt for a Trenton man wanted in connection with Tuesday’s double shooting in Dade County is over.

The Dade County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Tuesday night that 28-year-old Colbin Quinn Davis is in custody.

Davis was wanted on two aggravated assault warrants following a shooting Tuesday morning in the 400 block of Michaels Road.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation had identified Davis as the person investigators were searching for and warned that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

The U.S. Marshals Service later offered a $4,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Two Men Injured in Shooting

The shooting was reported Tuesday morning on Michaels Road on Sand Mountain.

According to the Dade County Sheriff’s Office, two men were shot. One suffered a gunshot wound to the head and another was shot in the leg.

Officials said one of the victims is Davis’ brother.

One victim was transported from the scene by Life force helicopter, while the other was taken by ambulance.

The shooting triggered a major law enforcement response and an extensive search of the surrounding area.

Residents along Michaels Road between Highway 301 and the Alabama state line were urged to remain inside while officers searched for Davis.

Nearby Davis Elementary School was also placed on a soft lockdown as a precaution. Officials said there was no known direct threat to the school.

Multiple Agencies Joined Search

The search continued for hours Tuesday and involved multiple local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

Authorities searched wooded areas around Michaels Road, with officials saying earlier in the day that Davis could be hiding in the woods.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation joined the investigation, while the U.S. Marshals Service became involved in the search and offered the $4,000 reward.

Several sheriff’s offices and SWAT personnel also assisted during the manhunt.

The Dade County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday night that Davis had been taken into custody.

Additional details surrounding where and how Davis was apprehended have not yet been released.
