October baseball has arrived, and the Atlanta Braves begin their postseason run Tuesday afternoon against the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Braves and Phillies meet at Truist Park in Atlanta for Game 1 of the National League Wild Card Series. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. as the 94-68 Braves take on an 88-74 Philadelphia club that secured its postseason berth on the final day of the regular season.
It is another postseason chapter in the rivalry between the two NL East clubs. Philadelphia knocked Atlanta out of the postseason in the 2022 and 2023 NL Division Series, while the Braves turned the tables during this year’s regular season by winning nine of 13 head-to-head meetings.
Chris Sale gets the Game 1 start for Atlanta after finishing the regular season with a 14-9 record and 2.16 ERA. Philadelphia will open the series with Jesús Luzardo on the mound.
There is little room for error in the Wild Card round. The series is best-of-three, with Game 2 scheduled for Wednesday and a deciding Game 3, if necessary, on Thursday.
The Braves and Phillies get the postseason underway Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Truist Park with pregame coverage starting at 1 PM.
