College football is back, and the Chattanooga Mocs will kick off their 2026 season on the road tonight against the West Georgia Wolves in Carrollton, Georgia.
Chattanooga and West Georgia enter the season at 0-0, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. at University Stadium. Tonight will mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
The Mocs begin their 119th season of football under head coach Rusty Wright, who is entering his eighth season leading the program. Chattanooga returns 11 position starters and has 20 players on the roster who have started at least one college game.
Junior Battle Alberson will get the start at quarterback for Chattanooga. Alberson appeared in six games and made three starts last season, throwing for 630 yards and five touchdowns.
West Georgia enters its third season competing at the FCS level and will play its first game under new head coach Steve Englehart. The Wolves have won all three of their games against Southern Conference opponents since moving to Division I in 2024.
