Discover the fascinating world of Appalachian amphibians during a family-friendly program at Cloudland Canyon State Park.
Georgia State Parks will host “Salamander Secrets” on Sunday, Aug. 23, at 2 p.m. at Cloudland Canyon State Park, located at 122 Cloudland Canyon Park Road in Rising Fawn.
Led by a park naturalist, the program will introduce visitors to the unique salamanders and lizards that call the Appalachian region home. Participants will learn how to tell the difference between salamanders and lizards while exploring the secretive lifestyles, remarkable adaptations, and interesting behaviors of five native species.
Designed for all ages, the interactive program is perfect for nature lovers, curious minds, and anyone interested in learning more about the incredible wildlife found in northwest Georgia.
