Dade County Area Among Georgia’s Lowest Gas Price Markets

Drivers in Dade County are benefiting from some of the lowest gas prices in Georgia as fuel costs continue to trend downward across the state, according to the latest report from AAA – The Auto Club Group.

The Dade County area is currently averaging $3.57 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline, making it one of the least expensive fuel markets in Georgia. Only Dalton reported a similarly low average price at $3.61 per gallon.

The lower prices come as Georgia motorists continue to see relief at the pump. The statewide average price for regular gasoline has fallen 8 cents over the past week and 25 cents over the past month. However, prices remain 90 cents higher than they were one year ago.

AAA spokeswoman Montrae Waiters said declining crude oil prices have helped drive the recent decreases, though market uncertainty remains.

“Gas prices in Georgia continue to decline, largely due to crude oil prices remaining below $100 per barrel; however, it’s unclear how long this trend will last, especially given ongoing uncertainty in the Middle East,” Waiters said. “With that in mind, the best approach is for drivers to stay mindful of fuel costs and look for ways to save at the pump whenever possible.”

For those filling a standard 15-gallon tank, the average cost in Georgia is approximately $56.40.

Nationally, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline is $4.07, marking the third consecutive week of declines. While lower crude oil prices have helped ease costs, concerns surrounding the Strait of Hormuz and increased summer travel demand continue to influence the market.

Georgia’s highest-priced metro areas are Savannah at $3.87 per gallon, Macon at $3.86, and Atlanta at $3.77.

As summer travel season continues, Dade County drivers are enjoying some of the lowest fuel prices in the state, providing a welcome break for motorists planning vacations, commutes, and holiday travel.
