The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has recognized Deputy Brenda Fossett with a Life Saving Award for her quick thinking and decisive actions during a critical emergency that helped save a woman’s life.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Fossett responded to a call involving a female who had become pinned between a tree and a lawn mower, resulting in a severe leg injury and significant blood loss.
Upon arriving at the scene, Deputy Fossett immediately assessed the victim’s condition and recognized the seriousness of the injuries. She quickly utilized her tourniquet to help control the bleeding while awaiting the arrival of emergency medical personnel.
Officials said Fossett’s swift response and calm demeanor were instrumental in providing life-saving care during the emergency. Her actions helped stabilize the victim until she could be airlifted to receive further medical treatment.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office praised Deputy Fossett’s professionalism, courage, and dedication to public service, noting that her actions went above and beyond the call of duty.
“Without hesitation, she assessed the situation and took action,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “Her quick thinking, calm demeanor, and selfless actions played a vital role in providing life-saving care until the victim could be airlifted for further treatment.”
The Life Saving Award is presented to individuals whose actions directly contribute to preserving life during emergency situations.
