Dade County EMA Monitoring Snow and Road Conditions
DADE COUNTY, GA — Dade County Emergency Management officials say they are closely monitoring snowfall and road conditions across the county this morning.
According to EMA, the current snowfall is expected to be brief, with the system moving through the area quickly.
Officials say they are keeping a close watch on road conditions on both Lookout Mountain and Sand Mountain. However, several days of warmer weather have left significant heat in the roadways, which should help limit accumulation.
Dade County Public Works crews are on standby and prepared to address any issues that may arise on county roads.
Emergency management officials are also working with the Dade County Board of Education to monitor road conditions as school systems operate on a delay.
Residents are encouraged to use caution while traveling and drive safely, as conditions can change quickly during winter weather.
Officials say the snow is expected to be short-lived and should move out of the area shortly.
