Animal Ordinance Awareness Campaign Launched in Trenton and Dade County
The City of Trenton and Dade County have launched an Animal Ordinance Awareness Campaign to help residents better understand recently updated local animal ordinances.
Officials emphasize that no new laws were created as part of the update. Instead, existing Georgia state animal welfare laws have been adopted into local ordinances so they can be more clearly enforced at the local level and easier for the public to access and understand.
City and county leaders say the goal of the campaign is education—not punishment. The effort is designed to explain what the law already requires and how pet owners can remain in compliance.
