The City of Trenton Police Department has officially launched its annual Silver Bells Project, a community-driven effort that provides essential support to senior citizens throughout the area.

Each year, the Silver Bells Program delivers care packages to local seniors containing basic hygiene items, warm blankets, socks, crossword puzzles, and food cards. The program also includes informational packets designed to help protect seniors from financial scams, assist with disaster preparedness, and offer resources for managing economic challenges.

Residents are encouraged to help identify seniors who may benefit from the program. Anyone who knows of a “Silver Bell” in need is asked to contact the Trenton Police Department—either by phone or in person—before December 1 to register them for assistance.

Community members wishing to donate are also invited to participate. The department is accepting items such as hygiene products, blankets, socks, puzzles, and food gift cards. Monetary or item donations may be dropped off at the Trenton Police Department or at City Hall during normal business hours, now through December 1.

For more information or to sign up a senior, call the Trenton Police Department at 706-657-4167.

The department expressed gratitude for the ongoing community support that makes the Silver Bells Project possible each year.
